Why this exists

It began with one man who walked five kilometres to temple every morning at ninety-five — until a fall sent him into a diagnostic journey that should have taken days and took months. Monitra was built so that no heartbeat goes unread.

Founded on a conviction that reading the signal better changes outcomes.
An upBeat® masterclass

Not another ECG webinar.

Most ECG training teaches the same waves from the same textbooks. This one is taught from a platform that has read over twelve billion real heartbeats — by a faculty who built and clinically validated that technology at a global level.

Capability

Read what others miss

Move past memorising waves to a repeatable, systematic method you can apply to any strip — with confidence.

Credibility

Learn from global faculty

Clinicians and signal scientists whose careers span international medtech and published cardiac research.

Career

Advance your career, stand out among peers

Walk away with a method you'll use daily and a certificate of participation from upBeat® Education — conducted by globally recognised faculty, and yours to show.

Your faculty

Led by Dr. Sandeep Basavarajaiah.

One of global cardiology's most published voices — and a committed ECG educator.

Dr. Sandeep Basavarajaiah
MBBS · MD · MRCP · FESC
Consultant Interventional Cardiologist · University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust

A global faculty voice across every major cardiology congress — TCT, EuroPCR, ESC and ACC. He leads ECG education and training programmes within the NHS, reports ambulatory and 24/48-hour rhythm monitoring in his own clinics, and earned his MD at King's College London on the athlete's heart, personally screening over 3,000 athletes by ECG. Arrhythmia is among his formal clinical interests.

The curriculum · five chapters

From the cell to continuous monitoring.

Each chapter builds on the last — from first principles to real traces to the ambulatory future of cardiac care, with live Q&A and worked cases throughout.

01

The Origin

Where every heartbeat begins

Cardiac electrophysiology and the conduction hierarchy — SA node, AV node, His–Purkinje. How cellular action potentials generate the trace, and the 12-lead system: limb vs precordial leads, placement, and artefact troubleshooting.

Presentation
02

The Language

Learning to read what the heart is saying

Reading P, Q, R, S and T waves and the PR, QRS, ST and QT intervals. Calculating rate (the 300 ÷ big-squares method), and assessing rate, rhythm and axis — a repeatable approach for any strip.

03

The Disruption

When normal rhythm takes an unexpected turn

Recognising common arrhythmias and distinguishing benign variants from life-threatening presentations, through an interactive, case-based walk-through of real ECG traces.

PresentationECG stripsLive Q&A
04

The Warning Signs

Recognising the patterns that demand attention

First-, second- and third-degree heart blocks; bundle branch blocks, ischaemia and infarction patterns on the 12-lead; and ECGs in special scenarios — electrolyte disturbance, pacemakers, athletes.

05

Beyond the Moment

From a few seconds of ECG to continuous cardiac insight

Ambulatory ECG monitoring — indications, device options, and where it fits in practice — with hands-on strip analysis and simulated patient scenarios.

No prior interpretation experience assumed — only that you work with the heart's signal and want to read it with confidence.
